
The cast of Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black took home a cluster of awards at the 22nd Screen Actor’s Glide Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend. The entire cast, made up of several Latinas, shined brightly on stage of the Shrine Auditorium as they all claimed the award for “Outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.” The series triumphed over other critically acclaimed comedy series such as HBO’s Veep and Amazon’s Transparent.

Uzo Aduba aka Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren also snagged the award for “Outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series.” She is one of several exceptional actresses who were recognized for their distinctive roles. Bessie actress Queen Latifah and the face of How To Get Away With Murder Viola Davis also won awards for best actress, while Idris Elba capped the night with two trophies for his performance in Beasts of No Nation and BBC America’s Luther.
