In “hoy se bebe” news, Saturday Night Live announces its first-ever Latinx cast member, Más Mejor talent Melissa Villaseñor. The announcement marks the latest in Más Mejor’s efforts to usher in more Latino voices in comedy. Villaseñor is one of three new faces making their debut on SNL’s Oct. 1 premiere.
The Chicana comedian of 10 years describes herself as “an impressionist, actor, musician, and graphic artist from Whittier, CA.” She joined Más Mejor’s roster in January 2016, producing eight videos including “Christina Aguilera Singing Class” and “Owen Wilson – Daily Itineraries.”
You may have seen her as a finalist on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent, as well as on the latest season of First Impressions with Dana Carvey. What’s more, Villaseñor has lent her voice on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Comedy Central’s TripTank.
