There’s no denying Selena’s influence since her untimely death in 1995. Now, Instagram popular fashion brand, Fashion Nova is celebrating the late Tejano singer by remaking her iconic purple jumpsuit just in time for Halloween.
According to Remezcla, Fashion Nova is naming the look “La Flor” and will be made of polyester and spandex. The costume’s cleavage is a lot more revealing than the original outfit Selena wore during her last live performance at Houston’s Astrodome.

However, this isn’t the first time Selena has been commemorated on Halloween. Last year, Kim Kardashian sported the same look. Many accused Kardashian of being a cultural appropriator of Latino culture for wearing the costume.

In addition to the Selena costume, Fashion Nova is also paying homage to the Mexican culture with its Dia De Los Muertos collection, which they inaccurately called Mexican Halloween, which is known as a holiday marked to honor deceased friends and family members. The brand created three different Dia De Los Muertos costumes, which are called: “Señorita Muerte,” “Mr. Muerte” and “Day of the Dead Boy.”
