The Change.org initiative, which argues that the late Chicana singer deserves recognition, lists the many accomplishments of Selena such as chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning songs and setting precedents for the Latin community and female singers. “Selena is making history to date, and it would be an honor for Selena to receive a wax figure at the beautiful Madame Tussauds Hollywood,” it reads.

Over 7,500 people have already signed the petition. Even more have supported across social media, prompting Madame Tussauds to respond to one @selenadreamingofyou on Instagram after he or she made a plea for Selena’s wax figure. “Hi @selenadreamingofyou! Thank you for all this information,” Tussauds said. “We have seen your great work! This would be a great figure and we will take it into consideration.”
If Madame Tussauds agrees, Selena’s figure will join the ranks of Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Selena Gomez – who was named after her.
