Inspired by the viral success of Bomba Estereo’s “Soy Yo” music video, People for the American Way (PFAW) partner with the song’s poster child for individuality, Sarai Gonzalez, who first won over our hearts parading her #browngirlmagic throughout the streets of Brooklyn, New York.
Gonzalez plants her stake in this year’s presidential election by rejecting Donald Trump’s hate and bringing everyone she knows and loves to the polls. “I was excited to do this video because this election is so important. I’ve had enough of Donald Trump,” she says. “He’s unkind and he’s dishonest. Even all the kids in my school know how racist he is and that he can’t be president. He would make America much worse, not better. That’s why everyone needs to vote.”
Speaking to Latino and bilingual audiences in the Latinos Vote! campaign, Gonzalez makes us feel warm and fuzzy, and like anything is possible all over again:
