Spotify and Brooklyn-based Latino youth media company, Remezcla, join forces in an effort to help further develop and cultivate Latino millennial markets in the U.S. As part of their new collaboration, Remezcla will work directly with Spotify on a monthly playlist called “Nuevo Noise,” dedicated to spotlighting new and emerging artists of Latino descent.
“We trust Remezcla’s cultural judgement and taste,” said Rocio Guerrero, Global Head of Latin Content Programming & Editorial for Spotify. “Our similarities are what brought us to the table initially. Couple that with our specific areas of expertise and we have a recipe for success.”
The collabo is bound to also engage Latino audiences on a global scale and give lesser known musicians a needed platform, via digital content and experiences that focus on a mutual passion for music discovery. “Over the past 10 years, Remezcla has distinguished itself as a space for music discovery and support for the careers of new Latino artists,” said Remezcla’s Music Editor, Isabelia Herrera. “We’re excited to collaborate with Spotify to bring this mission to their large digital audience.”
