Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes, a former The Voice contestant in Mexico, has reportedly been shot and killed in what looks like a Chicago ambush.
According to Fox News Latino, Fuentes got into a car with a couple of friends on Thursday (June 16) when an armed man ordered him out of the car, shooting him three times in the head. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed his death on Saturday (June 18).
This grim attack comes less than a week after the tragic murder of Christina Grimmie, also a former The Voice contestant here in the United States. Authorities say an overly obsessed fan shot her while she was signing autographs after her show in Orlando, Fla. The man then killed himself as well.
While police are still investigating any suspects in the Fuentes ambush, people took to Twitter to share their condolences with the singers friends and family.
