Marcello “Cool” Valenzano of Miami’s legendary production duo Cool & Dre set up his studio in preparation for a night filled with fresh talent and positive vibes. As his viral audience waited in anticipation for new music from today’s up-and-coming rappers and producers, Cool adjusted his mic before firing up his live stream to broadcast his newly developed radio show called “The Plug.”
Cool & Dre’s Record Room Studios located in North Miami has had several legendary acts walk through its glass doors, from Busta Rhymes to Lil Wayne. Now that it serves as the location for his new show, Cool plans to give his invaluable insight on the latest music from the comfort of his personal creative space and humble abode.
“We started the channel up to start doing in-studio series and a bunch of different shows,” said Cool to VIBE Viva. “We’ve got a lot of talented cats on our team and we wanted to set the network up, set the channel up so that they can have a new opportunity.”
Epidemic TV is Cool’s latest media-based business venture, which serves as the exclusive home of “The Plug.” The live-streamed radio show is dedicated to finding brand new talent in South Florida and advising aspiring artists on how they should improve their craft. Every Tuesday, Cool and his team listen to dozens of submissions and critique each record with positive praise or constructive criticism.
After spinning records from producers like Miami’s own Edsclusive and “We The Best” rapper and producer Kent Jones, Cool broke down his goals for “The Plug” on Epidemic TV and how he plans to bring it to a larger platform.
