As thousands of Indigenous protesters set up camps along the pipeline route in North Dakota to protect their water, land, history and climate, Willow and Jaden Smith joined countless protesters from coast to coast helping to fight the good fight in a growing movement against a fossil fuel project threatening the very livelihood of its native inhabitants.

Over the past few months, activists around the country have been taking up arms in solidarity with Indigenous communities and fighting for their lives on the front lines. The Smith siblings, along with the likes of Rosario Dawson and Shailene Woodley, joined forces with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, who oppose the Dakota Access Pipeline because the route crosses sacred sites and burial places. Not to mention, the very real concerns of the pipeline include the rupturing and polluting of the natives’ local drinking water.

Good to see famed figures using their celebrity for good cause, if only a collective few. For more information on #NoDAPL, or to join action visit NoDaplSolidarity.org.
