The worst people you can ever piss off is the People of Ethical Treatment of Animal Rights. PETA will go to war with some of your favorite celebs in order to promote their cause, having been known to throw red paint and flour on famous peeps who wear fur, talk about animals in a cruel way, or do anything they don’t like with animal skin.
Sure, there are a few celebs who’d rather go naked than wear fur, but these rebel celebs are not backing down to PETAs rule of thumb. — Terry Carter
1. PETA vs. Kim Kardashain
Kanye’s baby momma Kim Kardashian made headlines recently when she was flour bombed by PETA while promoting her fragrance overseas. She was quickly removed from the red carpet and made a quick dress change. Kim is known for her love of fur boots and coats, so we can bet little Kimye will be rockin’ some fur as well.
2. PETA vs. Lady Gaga
PETA put their paws on the Mother Monster after she showed up to the 2010 Video Music Awards in a memorable meat dress. PETA asked the pop star to trade in her meat dress for a dress made of lettuce, and strangely, we can actually see Gaga in something like that.
3. PETA vs. Kanye
We all know Kanye loves attention, even from PETA. In his 2012 song “Theraflu” Mr. West spit standout lyric, “Someone tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor.” PETA didn’t give ‘Ye a chance to finish his verse before they had something to say. “What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings.”
4. PETA vs. Rihanna
Bad girl RiRi doesn’t give zero you-know-what’s, especially when it comes to PETA. She was spotted rockin’ snakeskin boots in London. PETA didn’t think she looked so sexy, saying “Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it.” Ouch.
5. PETA vs. Beyoncé
When you’re royalty like Beyoncé, you must have more than a few mink coats in your closet. PETA once confronted Bey at a private dinner in 2006 which was captured on video. Just recently, she performed at the Super Bowl wearing iguana and cow skin to much chagrin of the animal-friendly organization.
6. PETA vs. 50 Cent
50 Cent is known for picking fights with everyone, but he wasn’t expecting to feud with PETA. He jokingly posted a picture of himself pretending to stab his dog named Oprah in the leg. PETA saw the picture and informed him on the daily mistreatment of dogs around the world. 50’s response: “Stay off my motherf*cking twitter page I don’t give a f*ck!” Um, we’re still trying to figure out why his dog name is Oprah?
7. PETA vs. Chris Brown
When Chris Brown announced that he would be selling his own breed of puppies on Twitter, PETA raised eyebrows on his true intention for the dogs. PETA said, “This is a money-making scheme, and Brown will count the suckers who fall for it as he counts the money on the way to the bank. Shelters will count the bodies in the barrel.”
8. PETA vs. Janet Jackson
Janet Jackson has been a spokesperson the fur fashion line of Blackglama since 2010, which PETA wasn’t feeling and had some nasty words to say about it. “The stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career). Ms. Jackson, you’re just plain nasty.” wrote PETA’s Jeff Mackey.
9. PETA vs. Kelis
Kelis definitely marches to the beat of her own drum. She lashed out in an open letter against the PETA group for condemning her use of fur in her eccentric outfits. Surprisingly, PETA calmly responded by telling her to educate herself about the abuse and torture animals suffer for her to look good in their skin/fur.
10. PETA vs. Jennifer Lopez
J. Lo ticked off PETA when she wore fox fur for her 2011 Vanity Fair photo shoot. PETA called her “arrogant and ignorant” for her outfit choice, adding, “Maybe the real story behind their breakup is that Marc Anthony left because he couldn’t stand looking into her morgue of a closet.” Low blow.
