Thirteen years have passed and America is still scorned by the unfortunate events that took place on September 11, 2001. Yes, American citizens should shed light on the tragic event and pay respect to the innocent individuals that lost their lives in the attack, but it is also important that we as Americans celebrate the importance of loving and appreciating our country.
Stop with the 9/11 conspiracies for a day and use today to remember the people we lost in the fire and their families that have suffered from the loss of a loved one. Also, to avoid to being a reminder of misfortune, reflect on the quirks and perks that add to our love for the red, white and blue.

Change is reoccuring
The civil rights movement happened only about 60 years ago and now we have a black president. While it’s not a bandaid to fix the nation’s race problems, it’s a step in the right direction.
Diversity
America is one of the most ethnically diverse nations in the world. Regardless of the varying stances on immigration, a large percentage of our families came from other countries and made this nation the colorful land that it is today.
Sports
Most countries only have one national sport, the U.S has three: Baseball, football, basketball (and sometimes hockey).
Food
Thanks to our point on diversity, there is so much to choose from. America is one of a handful of countries where a Mexican restaurant, Italian restaurant and Indian restaurant are feet away from each other.
Reality TV
When you just want to clear your mind of all seriousness, the U.S. is home to some of the greatest ratchet television to ever grace the entertainment world i.e: The Real World, Basketball Wives, Real Housewives of Atlanta etc.

We celebrate a lot of holidays that are not limited to certain religions.

America is home to some of the most famous people to ever make it to Hollywood. Artists, musicians and actors provide us with products of their craft to take our minds away from the things that cause us grief.
