
Dehydration doesn’t sound like something rappers and singers should be too concerned about. As long as they’re eating and drinking properly—especially after shows and during studio sessions—they should be OK, right? Right. But unfortunately, that’s rarely the case.
In recent years, we’ve seen quite a few artists fall victim to dehydration. Most recently, August Alsina collapsed on stage during a show in New York City and was rushed to a local hospital in order to get medical attention. Here are 13 other artists who’ve suffered from dehydration.

The Artist: Lil Wayne
The Date: October 2012
How Dehydration Affected Him: Although it was originally reported that Weezy suffered a seizure on a plane, it was actually a severe migraine and dehydration that forced him to see a doctor and cancel some appearances. A rep for Wayne said: “He is at home on doctor-mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their love and support.”

The Date: May 2013
How Dehydration Affected Her: While in Belgium for several shows on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, Bey came down with a case of dehydration and exhaustion and was forced to cancel a couple of dates. She resumed the tour once she started feeling better again.

The Artist: Trina
The Date: September 2013
How Dehydration Affected Her: Shortly after getting off a plane in Florida, the rapper passed out at an airport. She was checked into a hospital and given an IV to get her back on her feet. “I’m ok, just ready to leave this place,” she wrote on Instagram. “I hate needles.”

The Artist: Ray J
The Date: May 2012
How Dehydration Affected Him: After someone in his crew noticed that he was “extremely disoriented” following the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, Ray J was rushed to a hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion. Prior to the show, Ray J had taken a 32-hour round trip to China and driven four hours to Las Vegas for the Billboard festivities.
