Vixens, if you’re anything like me – there is simply not enough time in the early morning to get dressed, grab breakfast and head out the door. On average, I’m so busy rushing to catch the 9am train that sacrificing morning fuel has become the norm.
But there is a cure to the hunger games, a few quick and fulfilling meals to have you energized, booted and ready for the day; all in under 15 minutes.
Honey Yogurt Parfait Cup
With a few standby fruits and yogurt, grab a mason jar or small cup and prep an on-the-go quick and delicious parfait. Create layers by first adding the yogurt to the bottom, stack with strawberries, crunch up some graham crackers (or cookies if you have a sweet tooth) and add another yogurt layer with pineapples, blueberries or other fruits. Not only are you indulging a healthy meal (if you neglect the cookies), but fruits and the thickness of yogurt will satisfy you until your next midday craving. Top it off with a swirl of honey.
The Breakfast Burrito
I remember early college mornings when I would scavenge my refrigerator to find just about anything to whip up. At that time, my fridge was completely desolate, but managed to hold onto the last of eggs, cheese, celery sticks, tomatoes, and wraps that I used to make my daily struggle quesadillas dinners. Somehow, I produced one of the quickest and delicious breakfast meals of my life! And it took every bit of 8 minutes.
Cut up some celery, scramble eggs, cheese, as well as tossing in tomatoes, mushrooms and red pepper into the mix. With the tortilla wraps neatly compact the eggs so that it’s simple to roll, wrap and go.
The Kicked Up Egg Sandwich
Eggs can be one of the quickest breakfast foods to conjure up when you’re rushing. It may not seem like it, but you can create a great breakfast sandwich in 5 minutes and under – literally. If you’re on crunch time, stop mixing eggs in a bowl! Rub butter around the pan, crack the eggs directly in and start scrambling. Add the necessary essentials to flavor up your eggs; pepper, salt, cheese, a few scallions. While your making your eggs, throw in a bagel or bread slices into the toaster. Voila!
On a good day, hopefully you can spare an extra 5 minutes for bacon and/or sausages!
Frozen Banana & Strawberry Slush
Right in your refrigerator are the essentials to make a super easy and on-the-go smoothie. With bananas, strawberries, milk, orange juice, yogurt, and ice, topple everything into a blender to whip up a delicious slush.
Dry Cereal Cup
On the mornings we can’t afford to stop, sit and have breakfast, cereal is often the go-to. Even in a rush, cereal can be your on-the-go pick. Dock it up by adding raisins or even crushed nuts. Pour it into either a plastic cup or ziplock bag. a It’s an extremely convenient and mobile breakfast option, especially if you like to munch while commuting or at your work desk.
Oatmeal Berry Breakfast Bars
You can never go wrong, or miss a train when you have breakfast bars on hand. They are a fortifying favorite to the grab and go regime. But have you tried the oatmeal berry bars? They’re sweet, filling and will satisfy you just as much as a full meal.
The Banana Butter Bagel
If you love bagels and are never fresh out of peanut butter, this is the perfect quick treat for you! It’s as simple as spreading peanut butter onto your bagel of choice. To achieve a savory sweet flavor, chop banana pieces and doctorate with cinnamon pepper. Yum!
