The hip hop trend of male artists naming songs after women is really starting to become popular. Just this week, two up-and-coming artists, Euroz and Tory Lanez, released songs about women in hip hop culture. Euroz’s song entitled “Draya” is named after the Basketball Wives star Draya Michele and Tory Lanez’s song “Teyana” is a tribute to the singer Teyana Taylor.
Whether they are famous, unknown or just made up, rapping about these women seems to be a form of release for male artists. In honor of this ever-growing songwriting technique, we’ve got a list of the top eight hip hop songs named after women. Click through to see our number one pick.
