Much can be said about the female pop star in 2013. She’s loud, brash, semi-nude and most definitely twerking. She’s also opinionated, strong-willed and sitting atop the Billboard charts. Enter Katy Perry, whose bubblegum pop with a slight edge continues to win over fans. 2012 may have ended in divorce and heartbreak, but the Cover Girl who once bragged about kissing girls (and liking it) is now a woman back in love and sounding stronger than ever. Prism is a one stop pop shop for all of your listening needs. Whether you need a pick-me-up in the morning, something to cry to or a pre-game playlist, women everywhere can listen to this LP and feel something.

“Roar”- The Girl Power Anthem
No need to repeat this since the radio already does, but if you’re ever feeling down, blast this at ignorant levels. You’ll feel better after.

“Legendary Lovers,” “Birthday,” “Spiritual”- Bedroom Bangers
Her videos scream bubblegum pop, but Katy can set the mood, too. Despite being mid-tempo tracks, the lyrics are playful, sexy and perfect for a crazy fun night with your man. “Spiritual” is my personal favorite. Put this one on repeat.

“This is How We Do”- THEE party anthem
Hearing Katy use slang like “straight stuntin'” is strange, but this is for one of those nights you’ll later regret. We’ve all been there: don’t front. Don’t repeat the entire song; just the talking bit at the end which is pretty hilarious.

“Love Me,” “By the Grace of God,” “It Takes Two,” “Ghost,” “Choose Your Battles”- The Break-Up Round Up
Music is the best comfort for heartbreak. Hubby number two could be John Mayer, but she’s still getting over the first one. These tracks sound like diary entries, as Katy struggles to part ways with a love that just wasn’t working out (Russell Brand). “By The Grace of God” is pretty heart wrenching- listen to the live version below.

“Walking on Air,” “International Smile”- For the Party Parlay
My favorite part of a night out is the pregame. Getting dressed, drinking and blasting party tunes- it doesn’t get better than that.

“Dark Horse” ft. Juicy J.- Vixen’s Top Pick
The only collaboration on Prism just happens to be our favorite. Featuring a “trippy” Juicy J., the dark electro song is perfect for a car ride or gym session.
