Don’t you wish our sex drive worked like a car? Just press the accelerator and it’s at 80 MPH in one minute. Unfortunately there are factors leading to low libidos that many of us aren’t aware of. If you find it takes more effort than usual to get your wheels in motion then maybe these 5 things are to blame.
1. The Pill
Birth control pills can be a catch 22 for some women, specifically hormonal birth control. On one hand it’s effective at preventing pregnancy, but on the other it can send your libido plummeting. You can experience a hormonal roller coaster through the pill which may crash your sexual appetite.
If you find yourself more self conscious about your body you may be less likely to jump into the sheets with your man. Even if your partner treasures your body, YOU have to love yourself to feel sexy and enjoy the moment.
3. Lack of Exercise
There’s no cure for sluggishness like exercise. If you haven’t jumped on the fitness train you may want to consider hitting the gym because of the amazing effects it will have on your love life. Physical activity gets the blood flowing and releases endorphins (similar to what happens during sex). A pre-sex workout may be all the motivation you need.
4. Anxiety
Nothing crushes the passion like stress and anxiety. If you’re fearful of getting pregnant or stressed out from work it will be next to impossible to get into the moment. Sex is a natural de-stresser but getting to that point can be a huge obstacle when you’re plagued with anxiety.
5. TV in the bedroom
The bedroom should be a sanctuary for you and your man! No one else should be invited inside otherwise you risk jeopardizing the ambiance. Don’t let David Letterman or any of the real housewives distract you from quiet time with your lover.
