Rumor has it that Beyonce and Jay Z might be working on a joint album together. Is there even a way this could not be epic? Well, yeah… On the surface, it makes sense for the Carters to let their powers combine on wax, after coming straight off their On The Run tour. Or maybe not. Here are the potential pros and cons of a Beyoncé and Jay Z album.

PRO: This has been a long time coming, really.
The first question you ask when you hear whispers that Beyoncé and Jay Z might-could be working on a joint project: Why has this not happened yet? Basically. Same thing we said after their On The Run tour was announced. The Carters have appeared on no less than a trillion songs together. But an official Watch the Throne-style collabo would make it official, sort of like putting a ring on it.

CON: But the public might need a break from Bey-Z.
We’re not saying we do. Just that some people might. And we know you’ve heard this before. The Carters just embarked on a massive tour together. On said tour, they showed everyone home footage of their domestic life with future queen Blue Ivy. Of course, BeyHive members have no problem being on 24-7 Bey-Z watch, but others who are allergic to greatness might want a breather.

PRO: We’re thirsting for new (good) music from these two.
Just when you think they’ve exhausted everything, a song like “Part II (On the Run)” is born. It’s one of the highlights of Jay Z’s generally lukewarm album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. When these two pair up in the studio, the chances of quality records are high. Yeah, Jay has lost his touch, but you could say Beyoncé is in her prime. Everyone wants this, right…?
