America’s favorite father, Bill Cosby, isn’t winning us over these days. A month ago, comedian Hannibal Buress reopened the chatter on the actor’s rape allegation’s during his comedy set—something many forgot or didn’t know happened. The video quickly went viral as the he openly called the veteran actor a rapist, (“I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom. Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby”) multiple times during his set.

Ever since his video hit the net the 77-year-old actor cancelled his Queen Latifah Show appearance and tried (and failed) to win social media over via memes. And his latest sit down with NPR, this past Saturday (Nov 15), gave little to calm the younger generation’s new perception of the man we once revered as the ideal father. Bill refused to answer any questions just shook his head and remained silent as his wife, Camille, remained present in the interview.
Yesterday (Nov 16), although Cosby is still mum to everything, someone on his camp has spoken on his behalf. His lawyer, John P. Schmitt, released the following statement.
“Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives.”
