Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was defaced last week (Nov. 5), with the words “Rapist,” scribbled three times on the landmark in a permanent black marker. While Cosby is still quiet despite the increasing sexual assault allegations, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce spoke up about the words scrawled on the comedian’s star.
“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees,” he said as he proceeded to condemn the act. “When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California State landmark. The star is being cleaned up at this time.”
However, it took more than just some soap and water to clear Bill’s star, received by actor back in 1977. A maintenance crew was called in to remove the words, temporarily blocking off a part of the infamous site. Cosby now joins the list of stars with defaced stars on the Boulevard, including John Lennon and Marlon Brando.
