Entertainment Weekly is an authority when it comes to what’s hot and what’s not in Hollywood, as evidenced by their just released “New Hollywood: Entertainers on the Rise” list. Many of our favorite 2013 breakout stars made the coveted list, including Emmy-nominated actress Kerry Washington.
“I know that I am like the luckiest woman in show biz, and I think staying in a place of gratitude has really been what keeps me most sane…I just think when I’m in a place of gratitude then everything’s good. Or if not, it will be soon,” she told the magazine of her recent success.

Michael B. Jordan (above) are also featured for their indie hit. While the former spoke of taking a “blue collar” approach to filmmaking, Jordan revealed his most awkward audition experiences.
“Action auditions are the worst. You’ve got maybe two lines: ‘What’s up, dude? Die! Die! Die!’ and you act like you’re shooting somebody, and you’ve got a rolled-up script as a gun. It’s the most awkward thing ever.”
