—Brandy, Elle Varner, Kenny Lattimore, Luke James, Kendrick Lamar and R.K.M. & Ken-Y rocked out the Penn’s Landing crowd in Philadelphia last night (July 21) for the city’s 6th annual Global Fusion Festival.
“I’m just really blessed to be here,” Brandy said at a press conference that followed her performance. “The crowd tonight was unbelievable.”
Philly showed Brandy mad love and was anxious for more. Dressed in black and red leggings, a light blue shirt and colorful sneakers, Brandy sang “I Wanna Be Down,” “Almost Doesn’t Count” and other songs that began her career. Plus, newer songs including her recently released “Put It Down” track featuring Chris Brown. The songstress ended her set with “The Boy Is Mine” as a result of chants and screams of “Brandy, Brandy” calling her back to the outdoor stage minutes after she planned to close.
There were talks of a Brandy/Monica tour a while back, but Brandy, who shared how even after almost 20 years in the business she still gets stage fright until she actually starts performing, said she’s focusing on her album first.
“I’m open to it, but right now I’m really focusing on making sure the album really comes out October 2. And I’m trying to find a way to balance the acting, because I think I’m going to go back to The Game for next season. So, I’m just trying to find a way to do both simultaneously,” she said.
Upcoming albums seemed to be a common factor amongst the Global Fusion Festival performers.
