While the Brooklyn Nets prepared to go head-to-head with Lebron James and the Cavs at the Barclay Center Monday (Dec.8) both James and members of the Nets used their star power to show solidarity for Eric Garner by wearing the now famous “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt featured above.
Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose was the first to don the shirt during the pregame warm up Saturday with the Golden State Warrior and revealed to ESPN Monday he simply wanted to make an impact.
“It just touched a lot of people, and I just wanted to make sure that I got my point across.”
Upon seeing Rose’s shirt, ‘Bron made a request for his own and during an interview with ESPN said Nets Guard Jarrett Jack gifted him along with members of his team with the T-shirt. When asked why he decided to wear the shirt, James said it was to let Garner’s family know they’re not alone.
