Camel toe, oh camel toe, let me count the ways I detest thee.
Detestation of camel toe seems to be a common theme among women, but is it really that heinous of an offense? I love walking into Urban Outfitters, American Apparel or any Buffalo Exchange store just to be greeted by overzealous retail associates who don leotards, high-waisted skinnies or catsuits that showcase the glory of their nether regions. While they could be doing this solely for the purpose of garnering better commission sales, camel toe is practically unavoidable when rocking some garments.
There are celebrities that get crucified in the media for being repeat offenders of this so-called fashion crime like Ice T’s wife, Coco. I have never seen her out and about without an outfit that did not put her uterus on full blast. Khloe Kardashian has also been captured in some photographs that showcase the protuberance of her vajayjay and, most recently, Nia Long was caught trying to hide hers.
But all camel toe is not created equally. There are those who have gorilla foot, and this is a not so flattering accessory in any form-fitting attire. What about those clothing items that are completely unavoidable in hiding it, like yoga pants, spandex, catsuits, jeggings, beachwear and workout attire? In such situations, a bit of camel toe can be sexy in my opinion.
While I would agree that camel toe is not conducive for every occasion–at a job interview, a board meeting or church–are there some instances where camel toe can get a pass?
What do you think?
