Fashion blogs are breaking down boundaries and creating a voice for those who wouldn’t have necessarily had one in the fashion industry. But now, that voice is being called into question. Now fashion blogging is a way to make money instead of gaining for experience yourself, while public relations firms look at the blogs as a quick PR hit. How can you really trust the person behind the blog?
It’s especially interesting how much of a big business fashion blogging has become with bloggers bringing on agents, sitting next to Anna Wintour at fashion shows or working with brands–some even starring in campaigns. Blogs are beginning to get that same look. How do you trust the integrity of the bloggers? How do you know who’s in it for the free stuff, and who really has a passion for writing about fashion?
As a sidenote– and not to pull the race card–how long do you think it will be before we have a Bryan Boy, Man Repeller or Susie Bubble?
What do you think of the evolution of style blogging, Vixens?
