During an interview with Australian radio show The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Brown phoned in to explain that him and his badgal love interest are in different personal lanes. “One thing I always want to do is never disrespect anybody or put nobody down. The way I look at it is that I am always gonna love that person, and people have different wants and needs,” he told the hosts. “At the end of the day [Rihanna’s] a young girl. I can’t really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young, and I’m young too. I just got to step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be, instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket.”
Rumors of the breakup began weeks ago when the “Fine China” star was spotted flirting with a woman in an L.A. nightclub. That same fire grew this past weekend when Karrueche celebrated Brown’s 24th birthday with CB’s Unapologetic girlfriend nowhere in sight. Then, of course, there was that “I Can’t Win” track from his upcoming X album about a no-name woman partying and drinking too much for Breezy’s taste. Although the pop star could snatch up a side piece at any moment, he mentions flying solo…at least for now.
“Imma do it solo,” Brown said of enjoying three scheduled birthday parties. “I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thing, she on the road. It’s always gonna be love, but I’m just gonna do me. I’m a grown man.”
Rihanna’s currently performing in New York City. Should be interesting to see if she responds.
