When the shopping bug bites, it’s hard to resist rewarding yourself with a few new pieces. But, lugging around DD+ cups can slow down a spree, make shopping a bore. Whether your issues are awkward fitting dresses, too-tight graphic tees, or failed attempts in trying to kill the Pamela Anderson comparisons, having a large chest makes shopping much more difficult. Fear not, Vixens. Keep these helpful hints in the back of your mind when looking for new threads to accommodate your twins. —Stacy-Ann Ellis
DO try low scoop necks. Showing a little skin takes attention away from your girls.
DON’T be scared of patterns and prints. They’re not just for the likes of slender Solange. Chunky vertical lines and abstract designs flatter a woman with curves both above and below.
DO get fitted for your correct bra size. Victoria’s Secret may no longer be in your chest range, so try Nordstrom—they have an excellent selection of (really cute) bras from Freya, La Perla, Panache.
DON’T leave the store without trying on tops. All shirts aren’t created equal. Avoid the annoying return process and get the right fit from the jump.
DON’T purchase a shirt if the buttons don’t close when you inhale.
DO approach graphic tees with words directly across the chest with caution.
DON’T squeeze yourself into smaller sizes. There’s nothing cute about your cups spilling over.
DO understand that ruffles can be a hit or miss. Consult your mirror accordingly.
DON’T wear over-sized clothes in attempts to make your chest appear smaller. It does the opposite.
DON’T fall victim to visible side boobs.
DO invest in proper fitting business casual attire. You shouldn’t expose your “puffy skin” to your future employer. Make sure your boss-to-be is looking solely at your resume.
DON’T give up. Sometimes only finding ill-fitting clothes can be discouraging. Patience will lead you to the perfect piece in time. Trust us!
