Hollywood PR firm ID has reportedly severed ties with Drake after his insensitive rant against Rolling Stone. Last month the rapper took to Twitter to express his disgust with mainstream media after Rolling Stone dropped his cover in the wake of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death. “I’m done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That’s the only way my message gets across accurately,” he tweeted.
Drake later apologized for his tweet saying, “I apologize to anybody who took my initial comments out of context because in no way would I ever want to offend the Hoffman family or see myself as bigger than that moment. I am still the same person.”
ID could not overlook the rapper’s initial sound off and decided to split with Drizzy. A representative from the firm told Billboard, “Drake is an incredibly talented artist and we’re proud or our results for “Nothing Was the Same” and “Would You Like A Tour?” We wish him the best.”
