While we’re no stranger to the funky fashionista that is Ms. Erykah Badu, it seems the fashion world is finally joining the bandwagon.
First Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy vocalizes his love for the soul singer and makes her the campaign face of his spring collection. Then, InStyle Magazine featured her in their widely popular September issue. Now Elle Magazine is highlighting her personal style in their October 2014 issue.
Badu posed for a snapshot by Horst Diekgerdes in a dope Maison Martin Margiela cashmere coat, silk and chiffon dress and personal accoutrements (hat, scarf, head wrap) that makes her style her own. She sat with Elle dishing on how her style came about saying, “I was raised a child of the funk era: Betty Davis and Bootsy Collins. I’ve always enjoyed a very loosely put together style that feels like maybe I slept in it the night before—almost hobo chic. Effortless.”
Tens across the board for Erykah and her personal style!
