is back with a bang and a cartwheel! She may have filed bankruptcy last year, but this year Betsey graced fashion week with two shows. Last nights second show—taped for Bravo—was classic Betsey. The hair was 80’s big, the makeup was fabulous and the dresses were tiered.
Makeup
Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics created a look that matched the clothes, fun and vibrant. Using Metal-Eyes Foil Finish Shadow in Bronze, the model’s eyes were golden and their lips were coated in a mix of Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery and their Cranberry Lip glaze. Lucero also used Rouge Pots in Sweet Pea to create a natural flush on the cheeks and then finished the look with All Over Powder in Kitten. – Carla Thomas
Hair
Rodney Cutler for ULTA went for a totally 80’s look with the hair. He gave the models an up do that is youthful and perfect for the prom. It’s a bed-head up do if you will; the style is a little messy and teased with tons of volume. Various Redken hairsprays were used to keep the style in place.
Nails
New nail polish brand Morgan Taylor adorn not only the model’s nails but also Betsey’s. Seen on Rita Ora, this brand is making waves in the nail industry for their bright, fun and funky colors. To compliment Betsey’s retrospective collection, the models rocked glittered nails that matched their wardrobes. Morgan Taylor is only found in select salons for now.
