Just in time for Valentine’s Day, La Perla showcased luxurious and fashionable lingerie at its Fall 2013 presentation held at the Dream Downtown Hotel. Though models were scantly clad, their makeup and hair was by far the focal point. Take a peek at the looks we captured backstage.
Nails
Butter London
“We wanted an effortless, cool girl look with a bit of a fashion edge,” said Katie Hughes, Global Color Ambassador for Butter London. Inspiration for the nails was drawn from Spain and the exotic side of art.
For the first look, Katie matched the models skin tones with one of the three lacquers in the Starkers Collection: Shandy, Crumpet or Tea + Toast. For the Black Label look, models wore Union Jack Black and Yummy Mummy.
Makeup
Hourglass
“We wanted a look that embraces the strength of a woman, but still elegant,” said Hourglass Cosmetics makeup artist Moani Lee.
The models’ skin was prepped with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, followed with Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup and Hidden Corrective Concealer. Their eyes were first lined with Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso, then touches of Visionaire Eyeshadow Duo in Exhibition was used to add hints of glimmer. The look was completed with Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara.
To get the red lip, first Lee prepped them with No. 28 lip oil, followed by blending two shades of Femme Rouge: Icon and Raven.
Hair
Redken
“It’s like you just pinned your hair up after amazing sex,” says hair stylist Heather Packer. “It’s a lived in look.”
Products for the pinned up Spanish-inspired look include Rootful 06 and Powder Grip. For the Black label collection, models wore a deep side part with slicked back strands that created a tight ponytail.
