Tyler Perry’s Single Mom’s Club has not yet proved to be a box-office hit, only grossing a little over $8 million during its premier last weekend. Clearly, single moms everywhere weren’t feeling the family flick starring Nia Long. Compared to his Madea film franchise, this movie marked an all time low for the media mogul. His latest offering, Madea Christmas, debuted at $16 million, which is low compared to the other films in his archive.
The film may have flopped, but it inspired us to acknowledge the celebrities, who did prevail despite being raised in single-parent homes (and in some cases abandoned by both their parents).
