Forbes magazine has recently released their 2016 list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women. The list features 60 women of various nationalities and ages and ranks them based on their net worth. All of these women are powerful movers and shakers, but we couldn’t help but notice the abundance of brown girl magic.
Eight women of color stepped into formation on this year’s list. Some of the faces are familiar and others may be new, but they are all ladies you should know. Check out these powerhouse vixens and how they stacked up:
#2: Oprah Winfrey
This household name and media mogul ranked second with a net worth of $3.1 billion. She recently bought 10 percent stake in Weight Watchers and its stock has gone up 90 percent.
#16: Neerja Sethi
Sethi and her husband founded Syntel, an IT consulting and outsourcing firm in 1980. Today it has a market cap of $3.6 billion and employs more than 25,000 people. Sethi is currently the vice president of corporate affairs and has a net worth of $1.1 billion.
#21: Sheila Johnson
Johnson and her husband cofounded Black Entertainment Television, also known as BET, in 1979. She currently has a net worth of $710 million.
#22: Carolyn Rafaelian
Rafaelian founded jewelry company Alex and Ani–named after two of her daughters–in 2004. This CEO and chief creative officer has a net worth of $700 million.
#30: Jayshree Ullal
Ullal became CEO of Arista Networks, a computer networking company, in 2008. Her current net worth is $470 million.
#34: Janice Bryant Howroyd & family
Howroyd heads Act-1, a staffing and human resources firm whose net revenue has topped $1 billion. Her net worth is $420 million.
#40: Sonia Gardner
President of Avenue Capital global investment firm, Gardner has a net worth of $350 million.
#56: Beyoncé Knowles
The queen herself has dominated in the worlds of music, fashion and has acquired numerous multi million-dollar endorsement deals. Her net worth is currently $265 million.
