Just when we didn’t think we couldn’t find another reason to fall in love with Lance Gross, he becomes the face of Magic Shave and our reasons multiply. The sexual chocolate actor who brings goodness to big and small screens, has been officially recognized for his clean-cut shave.
The Temptations actor—who is a secret agent in his new pilot—partnered with the company to help men look their best while giving fans a chance to win a trip for four to Las Vegas through Magic Shave’s virtual Facebook dating game.
In true Vixen fashion we took this opportunity to let our readers ask Lance questions they’ve been dying to know. Flip the page to find out about his partnership with Magic Shave and discover if he answered your question.
VIBE Vixen: Why do you feel you were chosen to represent Magic Shave?
Lance Gross: I think it’s a perfect marriage, I’m a clean cut guy and I think I represent what Magic Shave represents. It was a perfect opportunity because I’m always on camera and I have to shave a lot to keep it nice and clean. A lot of African males suffer from ingrown razor bumps and Magic Shave is the answer. You eliminate the razor you eliminate the bumps. It takes four minutes and then you wipe it off and you really get a closer shave than you would with a razor.
Can you explain the dating Game program?
The game is called Work Ur Magic and you can find it at workurmagic.com. It’s a fun and exciting interactive game that allows guys to show how smooth they are and [how they] work their magic. If they’re really smooth they can win a trip to Vegas for them and three of their friends.
Who taught you how to shave?
I can’t even say it was my dad. We would always take trips to the barbershops so it would probably be the barbers in Oakland, California.
What’s your worst shaving experience?
I moved to LA trying to find a barber, I found this guy who took my hairline back so far. It must have been like an inch on the sides. Any guy knows that’s a no-no because it takes a long time for it to grow back. It took at least 2 to 4 weeks for it to grow back in all the way. That had to be the worst experience.
Would you ever change your clean-cut appearance to a scruffy, full grown beard?
I dabble between them. Sometimes I wear a beard, sometimes I’m clean cut with a goatee, and sometimes I have to take it all off especially when I was working with House of Payne. It just depends on what I’m working on. Usually when I’m on vacation I let it grow into a full beard.
What’s the sexiest thing about a woman’s’ face?
The sexiest thing about a woman’s face has to be her eyes. I’m an eye guy and they don’t have to be a crazy color it’s just like the shape.
@Quyonce: Would you ever go nude for a movie?
Of course, it would have to be the right opportunity though. I feel like if its going to be something like that I can’t half ass it, it has to be all out like “boom this is me” but of course I would.
@SankaraXT: How do you pick your stylist for your shoots and are you going to do any on the east coast?
It’s all word of mouth. I have a core group in LA that I work with, I’m comfortable with them, we’re friends but I’m always open to finding new stylist so I guess it’s word of mouth.
@Xoxosaraash: What’s your stance on the Rick Ross controversy?
Rick Ross that’s my boy, I love his music but he went kind of too far with that. I don’t think that’s cool, no rape is cool. I think it was a mistake, I don’t think he thought it through it was a punch line but I don’t agree with it. But then again it goes with everything—I don’t agree with people killing each other but people rap about that all the time but nobody ever talks about that. That’s on the same level, if not worse. It was just a mistake he made, I don’t think he should lose his endorsements over it.
@Depthsofmysole: What’s your daily workout regimen?
I’m lucky I have a fast metabolism. If I’m traveling I’ll hit a few push-ups, a couple of crunches. If I’m in town in LA, I hit the gym. I like to workout with free weights and yeah I eat what I want.
