Young Iman was discovered on the streets in Somali by photographer Peter Beard. Fast forward to 1976 and she scored her first modeling assignment for VOGUE. Now the copper-toned beauty is a world famous fashion model, actress and entrepreneur who is know for her charitable work. And did we mention she’s married to the handsome David Bowie? The list goes on and on. But for now, let Lindsay Ebbin, VP and Global Creative Director of Vibe Beauty show us how to nail her look.
Step 1: Start by using Iman’s Corrective Earth Concealer on clean, well hydrated skin. This concealer does a great job of lifting the areas around the eyes. Then, apply Iman’s Second To None Cream to Powder foundation all over the face, making sure to avoid streaking.
Step 2: To create a dramatic or soft brow, use a black or brown eyebrow pencil. Smudge a little on the top of your hand and then use a brow brush to apply the product to your brow—this creates a super soft, but natural look. Remember to follow your arch. If you don’t have a defined arch, gently lift the area of your brow that appears to have an arch and build the color softly on that area to create the illusion of a high arch.
Step 3: One of my favorite eyeshadows by Iman Cosmetics is Bejeweled. It’s long lasting and crease resistant. Take the darkest plum tone and apply generously on your lower lid to create a smoky look, then use the same applicator and do the same on the lower lash area. Next, apply the lighter shade on the brow bone blending into the darker shade. Finish with an ebony eye pencil to line the inside and exterior of the eye. This creates an ultimate smokey eye.
Step 4: Next, use Iman’s Blushing Powder in Sunlit Cooper. Start from the hairline and work inwards below and on top of the apples of your cheek.
Step 5: Try Lip Liner in cocoa to define your lip area. Finish with a Lip Shimmer in blushing nude and add high shine gloss to create a 3-dimensional effect.
