On November 12, Solange will breath new life into the R&B genre with her Saint Heron compilation album. The first release off her indie label Saint Records brings together a group of artists handpicked by Solange including Cassie, Jhene Aiko, Sampha and Petite Noir.
“With Saint Heron I really wanted to celebrate and continue to cultivate the community for genre-defying R&B artists. I’ve personally connected with all of these extremely talented artists, and really excited for us to come together through the compilation as a new movement for music,” she says of her new project.
Before the project arrives in stores, check out the first single below and flip the page for more of the lesser known artists.
India personifies the 90’s sound with her indie soul music. She’s worked with big names like Chris Brown, Monica and Diddy, but we’re finally seeing what the songwriter can cook up for herself. Be sure to check out her Origin EP before getting into Saint Heron.

B.C. Kingdom
These Inglewood, CA natives are known for their unique mix of dance electro and hip-hop. Like Solange, their fashion is super unique and a direct reflection of the music they create.

Starchild
The name pretty much says it all. Starchild’s sound can be described as intergalactic-disco-infused-pop.

This Maryland-born songbird’s debut mixtape Cut 4 Me is amazing. Doesn’t she sound like a mix of Solange and Kelis?

Jade De La Fleur
Jade is definitely an up and comer in the R&B world. We have a feeling she’ll provide the soul for this music collective.
