While beautiful black women are prevalent in all aspects of today’s entertainment industry, very few are recognized for their accomplishments whether it be at awards shows or on magazine covers. Besides a few exceptions, i.e. Rihanna, Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, many of fashion’s giants go months and sometimes years without featuring a black female entertainer on its cover.
Despite this unfortunate reality, we salute Vixens who have made or created historic moments on the covers of magazines.–Nicole Brown
