Award season may only last for a few months, but award style is all year round.
Award nominees and attendees wear colors, jewelry, shoes and hairstyles that can be transformed into everyday attire outside of just one night. Don’t let the red carpet and floor length gowns intimidate your fashion instinct to take notes from your favorite celeb fashionista. Instead, take notes on how to translate that style into everyday wear. Check out some of style tips that will turn any sidewalk into your personal red carpet. — Sandra Garcia
Jennifer Lawrence snagged the Best Actress Golden Globe Award in a bright red Dior gown this past Sunday (Jan. 13). Color is going to play a large role in every girl’s spring 13′ wardrobe. To incorporate this highly saturated color into an everyday outfit, wear a bright top matched with a neutral belted cardigan. Bright hues compliment the best while in the office when they are subdued by neutrals.
Adele wore a long black Burberry gown to the Golden Globes this year. The songstress looked timeless while walking the red carpet and accepting her Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Her classic style can be easily redone for everyday by wearing a black A-line dress with a similar neckline and flats. (Note: Booties does the trick, too!) While Adele does not play it up with jewels, feel free to pair up an all black dress with a fun collar necklace.
J. Lo loves a good nude dress, and while this Zuhair Murad lace dress will definitely be too much for a day at work or at the park, there’s ways to tone it down.
Start with a nude lip which will give your face a shiny polish. To wear lace, try a blouse that has lace inserts in appropriate places like the sides or the back. Never forget to wear a cami or a tank under it!
Jessica Alba stunned on the red carpet in an Oscar de la Renta salmon colored gown, bright coral lips and a $5 million dollar Harry Winston diamond necklace.
While Alba is a fashion powerhouse on the red carpet, you don’t necessarily have to be one at work or in a classroom. A salmon-colored button up shirt or pair of denim adds the extra spice to anyone’s wardrobe with ease. Make sure to steer clear of matching the salmon with other loud colors. Keep it cute with white, beige, grey or even a bone-colored match.

Anne Hathaway was trés chic at the 70th annual Golden Globe awards in a two-piece white Chanel outfit. With her short ‘do, Hathaway was truly channeling 60’s Hollywood glamour, simple yet magnetic.
While white may be sitting in everyone’s wardrobe, there’s a way to execute it flawlessly or make it look trashy. Stay away from all-white ensembles and always match with a punchy color and gold accessories. A white blouse with red pants and gold bangles is a winner.
And for the ladies with the short hairstyles, keep hair with high shine and an extreme polish with natural oils for a sleek look.
