Valentine’s Day is coming up and you probably are scrambling around trying to figure out how to outdo yourself this year. Doing the normal candy-dinner-sex-repeat V-Day is boring, so instead, shower your love with intangible presents: time, energy and effort. Give them an out-of-this-world Feb. 14th that will have them bragging to their buds.

Spa Treatment
Turn your bathroom into a candlelit spa with a bubble and rose petal bath. Apply a facial while they lie in the sudsy pool of water, then warm their towel. As they finish the first step to relaxation, prep the bedroom for a one-on-one massage. After a full-body rubdown, end their spa day with a basketful of aromas, candles and other spa-themed trinkets.

Picture Says a Thousand Words
Make a homemade photo album or book of your relationship throughout the year(s).
Album:
1. Put the album in chronological order of events.
2. Make a theme for each event and decorate each page in accordance with its theme.
Book:
1. Start the story with the way you met, Notebook-style. You probably won’t have a picture of your first date but have fun with it. (Maybe have some sketch a few things up.)
2. Turn the book into a comedy-turned-love story without an ending.

Happy Hour
Together, you and your valentine can create a signature drink. Have fun trying out different ingredients until you mix up the perfect beverage, the one you both love. Record your final ingredients, name it and toast to many more happy hours together.
Remember: Think outside the box when you go to the liquor and grocery store.

IOU
Create numbered IOU cards that your valentine picks throughout the day. As time flies, tell your boo to “pick a number.” You might want to leave your day open because the rules are that you have to fulfill the IOU. Make it fun, sexy and spontaneous!

Write little love notes about how you feel about your valentine and put them into one balloon each. Blow up the balloons and spread them around the room. Watch their face light up as they pop to read each love message.

Scavenger Hunt
Turn V-Day into an extreme scavenger hunt. Put little clues around the city (or town) at his or her favorite locations. Of course, make the last destination you!

Calendar
Create a 12-page “love” calendar. Add photos at the top of the page with special events pre-written on the dates, such as anniversaries and birthdays. It’s a great gift and it makes sure the person doesn’t forget future important dates.
