To celebrate the fifth anniversary of his critically acclaimed second mixtape The Warm Up, J. Cole pens a letter to thank his fans and announces a tour.
In the letter, which was unveiled via his Twitter, the Born Sinner MC reflects on why he initially made the mixtape and the response he received from his fans.
“The Warm Up is a declaration of dedication to Greatness,” the North Carolina native said. Told from the perspective of a kid who wants more than what his city has to offer him.”
Cole went on to thank the fans and encourage them to follow their dreams and never settle for less.
“Everything will be OK. Don’t stop dreaming.” He later said, “No matter where you were 5 years ago, I hope today that you are closer to your dreams.”

To further celebrate The Warm Up’s anniversary, he announced the second annual “Dollar and a Dream” tour, where he will be performing the mixtape in its entirety. An accompanying trailer was released as well. The 29-year-old rapper also sat down with Sway to premiere his video for “Lights Please” and discuss The Warm Up.
