John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have been one of our favorite Hollywood couples since the singer’s beautifully-penned Love in the Future album. However the Grammy-winning artist admits the notion of “love at first sight” didn’t apply to the two in the December/January issue of Los Angeles Confidential.
When asked about falling in love right away, Legend admits their relationship didn’t quite work like that. “I’m more cautious than that. I wasn’t like, ‘This is the woman I’m going to marry’ from day one,” he told LA Confidential. “For me I’m the kind of person who needs to grow into that feeling. It was probably a couple of years in when I could already see us being together forever.”
The singer also talks “All of Me,” which his stunning wife was featured in the video. He explained how their six-year relationship was the inspiration behind the hit record. “The more you know someone, the more you’re inspired by your relationship,” he dished. “I grew up just learning what it means to be in love with somebody… because I had never really been in love before. I guess you have to grow enough to be able to write that song with sincerity and authenticity.”
