Like any artist hurt by someone, Jordin Sparks used her recent break up with Jason Derulo as inspiration in her music. After releasing “How Bout Know” Remix—which sheds light on the couple’s demise—the singer drops the entire EP, Bye Felicia. While not every song pertains to her ex beau, she’s shedding off her relationship status and enjoying the single life with her new project.

Borrowing Ice Cube’s infamous line “bye Felicia” from the ’90s comedy Friday, she explains to the Leakers why she named the project after the phrase’s sentiments. “I was trying to figure out a whole bunch of things I could say. That statement, one it’s funny, and two, it just applies to my life right now. I don’t have time for certain people and certain things.”
