Since their inception into Hollywood culture, the Kardashians have been accused of pretty much everything, including “faking” it for reality show cameras. Although the famous “klan” has parlayed their success into a bevy of profitable business ventures, there are still skeptics like Barack Obama and Katie Couric who aren’t believers.
During an interview with Us Weekly, the latter gave her take on the celebrity family.
“I don’t understand – why are they so famous? I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested.”
Kim Kardashian, who’s been tending to newborn North West, came out of hiding to address the “controversial” statement. Along with a posted snapshot (above) of Couric’s baby gift to she and Kanye West, the reality starlet wrote:
“#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkShit”
Since then, Couric exclusively tells E! Online that her intention wasn’t to belittle Kim and her accomplishments.
“I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family. I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”
Vixens, do you believe Couric?
