When was the last time you didn’t turn from a summer muse into a winter wifey? We’ll wait. When the weather gets hotter, so do the hormones and they’re usually uncontrollable.
This summer season, we can expect fellow singles to mix and mingle at local mixers, BBQs, parties and events. You’re bound to catch the attention of a dude on the hunt, but you don’t necessarily have to cuff him when September comes around.
This year, try something different: staying uncuffed. Avoid locking down with the cutie you met at that first May day party. Don’t fall into the winter schemes; it’s a never ending cycle. Here’s a guide for girls to avoid cuffing season with a random hottie.

1. Don’t put out too much.
At this point, you’re probably suffering from PDED—Post Dramatic Ex Disorder. So avoid hopping into anything new. It’s okay to find a muse this summer, but don’t get too involved.
2. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
There are so many fish in the sea. Just because you meet a great guy in June, you shouldn’t automatically decide to put a ring on it. Keep a comfortable distance physically and most importantly mentally.
3. Go on numerous dates.
It’s a free meal, girl—don’t you dare turn it down. Just kidding (kinda), but go out for drinks, go to the movies and even go to dinner.
4. Have fun with your girls.
Make sure you have Single Saturdays with your girls at least twice a month. Don’t hesitate to let guys buy you drinks or ask you to sit at their tables. Flirt and work it!
5. Always dress to impress.
We all know how girls get when they settle down with a dude. No more sexy outfits. We fall right back to our comfort zones: tees, sweats and ponytails. Let those single papis know you’re still in the game. Throw those booty shorts on and put on your best lip.
6. Stay focused.
Always bring yourself back down from “man world.” They play the game pretty hard and there’s nothing wrong with a guy liking you and you liking him back, just make sure you aren’t blinded. Reevaluate what you really want as much as possible. Always think thoroughly before you act.
7. Don’t force it.
Don’t force it to make it work just because he’s convenient. Consider a bad first date a clear sign from the most high. Even a rough first impression can be saving you from a storm.
