In last night’s episode of La La’s Full Court Life, La La got in trouble with Po and Dice for ignoring the two after she invited them to a Knicks v. Phoenix game. Instead, she went with songstress and friend, Monica. Po and Dice first felt like ‘La took their friendship for granted, but after a quick pow-wow, the mini beef was squashed. All agreed that Dice and Po have been with La La from the start. So, what was the start?
La La Anthony has become the “sister I never had” to a lot of people throughout the nation over the years. She’s admired for her down-to-earth nature and comedic tendencies, but overall, for just keeping it real, humble and having fun. La La’s Big Break Comes in Radio
Before hosting her own radio show on 92.3 The Beat in Los Angeles, La La interned at Atlanta’s Hot 97. As a teen, she had been promoted to co-host a show with Ludacris.
La La Transforms From Radio to TV
La La joined MTV during one of the network’s most pivotal times, hosting Total Request Live (TRL). She went on to host multiple reality TV show reunions and conducting red carpet interviews.
La La Adds “Actress” To Her List of Titles
La La made her acting debut in 2001 on Two Can Play That Game, starring Morris Chestnut and Vivica A. Fox. Since then, she’s appeared in You Got Served, One on One, CSI: NY and more. Most recently, BET’s Let’s Stay Together and Steve Harvey’s Think Like a Man have been added to the budding actress’ résumé.
La La Finds Love
After a long engagement period (Christmas day of 2004 – summer 2010), La La married New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony (then, player for the Denver Nuggets). She gave birth to their son, Kiyan, in 2007.
La La Lands Reality TV Show
In 2010, La La’s preparation for her wedding, as well as the ceremony itself, was aired on VH1 as La La’s Full Court Wedding. The show eventually evolved to La La’s Full Court Life and is currently in its second season.
La La Rounds Out Her Household Name
La La recently launched her own makeup line–in conjunction with Motives Makeup–called “Motives for La La.” She has also been featured in countless magazines including Latina, our very own premiere digital issue and most recently, Vogue, for a spread about her family and life up to now.
