As all of South Beach rejoiced Thursday night (June 21) for Miami Heat’s championship win against Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals, there’s no doubt that the ladies of the team’s Big Three–LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh–felt just as victorious. Here’s a look at the women the Miami ballers put a ring on (or plan to eventually) before they got the title.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
Even if you’re not a Heat stan, you can’t deny the romantic chemistry between Gabrielle Union and her baller boo. When asked what she loved about her man’s game, she told the Sun-Sentinel, “His resilience,” she said. “He’s one of those people … everybody makes mistakes, we all make mistakes in life. He doesn’t make the same mistake twice.”
Sporting a sideways Heat cap and a “Team No Sleep” shirt, the actress looked every bit of his #1 cheerleader. That’s what you call a ride-or-die.
Adrienne and Chris Bosh
The morning after the victory, photos and videos of Heat star Chris Bosh taking it to the head with champagne showers decorated timelines everywhere, but that’s not the only cause for celebration. He and his wife Adrienne had just given birth to a baby boy during the first round of the finals against the Knicks. Like a team player and a good hubby, he flew out to be with his wife as she gave birth only to hop back on the next plane to New York to do damage in the Garden. It’s been a long road but one that paid off.
“We suffered through a lot together,” Bosh told the Huffington Post after the game’s end. “We came here to win a championship and we got it done.” Gotta love a man who knows how to allocate his time wisely.
Savannah Brinson and LeBron James
Beside every king stands a queen and LeBron James is no exception. He has two children with his longtime-girlfriend-turned-fiancee Savannah Brinson. James reportedly shelled out between $250,000 and $300,000 for Brinson, who was also his high school sweetheart. It would be fitting to say that patience is a virtue given that the Heat’s MVP James waited years before bending on one knee…and also grabbing a ring of his own. He had no problem expressing his relief post-game either. “It’s about damn time,” James said. “It’s about damn time.”
