After what felt like music’s longest visual hiatus, André 3000 is back and prepared to dominate both on stage and the silver screen.
Jimi: All Is By My Side, the film in which he portrays the late Jimi Hendrix, debuts in theaters on Friday (Sept. 26th), the first day of the OutKast Homecoming concert in Atlanta, Ga.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Three-Stacks candidly spoke about his comeback and joked about a possible OutKast biopic.
“It would be great to make an OutKast movie right now,” he said. “But instead of really serious, make it a full comedy — like Kevin Hart would play Big Boi.” And Benjamin? “We should cast somebody stupid — like Leonardo DiCaprio.”
Although comical, it seems as though DiCaprio may be ready for the role as he was spotted rapping a verse from A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” over the weekend.
As for André, we’re not sure what he’s been up to, but we can’t wait to see him in full force starting Friday.
