Lil Wayne is the latest (and most surprising) artist signed to Cash Money records that wants off the label.
Weezy hopped on his Twitter to announce his scheduled December 9th Tha Carter V album release has been pushed back yet again, due to his management. “To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.”
He continued his rant against YMCMB by declaring he wants to part ways to the label he called home for over twenty years. “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,” he tweeted. He also claims he’s a prisoner while apologizing to fans for another delay. “I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u”
He may not have a home in YMCMB anymore, but he can find a new one in G.O.O.D. Music. After reading Weezy’s tweets, Pusha T extended the idea about joining Kanye West’s label. He tweeted “@LilTunechi this too shall soon pass #cometoGOODMUSIC”
