Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta star Benzino was hospitalized Saturday, March 29 after being shot at his mother’s funeral procession in Duxbury, Mass. According to the Associated Press, Benzino was on Route 3 south of Boston when his nephew, Gai Scott pulled up alongside him and fired several shots inside the rapper’s SUV.
After being struck by a bullet Benzino proceeded to exit his vehicle and flag down a passerby who then took him to the Duxbury Police Department where he was later transferred to a hospital. It has been reported that tension had been brewing between Benzino and his nephew for some time before this incident.
Benzino is in stable condition and has been getting the support from friends and loved ones. His nephew has been arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder. He will be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Mon., March 31.
Let’s hope Benzino and his family can work through this peacefully from here on out.
