Inspiration for Christian Siriano’s Fall 2013 collection was based on a Russian princess heading to the opera, so it was very opulent, with heavy patterns and full of embellishment. To compliment the look, MAC Cosmetics leading makeup artist Polly Osmond went for a strong eye and neutral lip look. “We wanted the girls to be very strong, so we’ve done a dark eye giving the face a strong image walking down the catwalk,” said Osmond.
“For eyes, we used black pencil on the inside and then Carbon eyeshadow underneath. Slightly heavier on the corner and then liner on the inside, with a very fine line on the top lid,” she explained. “Just underneath the eye, we feathered it slightly so it looked like little eyelashes coming out which gave that diffused effect.”
“We shaded the face with contour, no blusher, no mascara,” continued Osmond. “The eyebrows were brushed out and then we finished with Clean lipglass on the lip over Mavy Nude lipstick. So apart from the eyes, everything else is quite natural.”
The artists used a combination of eyeshadow and liners including Carbon eyeshadow, Smolder eyeliner on the bottom, and Black Track eyeliner on top to create the dramatic eye spied at Christian Siriano Fall 2013.
