Yesterday, The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College’s LA Chapter and Congenial Spirits celebrated two decades of philanthropy. The prestigious gala took place at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel in Downtown L.A. The gala honored Being Mary Jane creator, Mara Brock Akil, actress and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete, and Spelman alumna Traci Blackwell.
Attendees were invited to participate in a silent auction, enjoy specialty cocktails like the Spelman LA Sip, and listen to a live performance by artist Andra Day. Guests were also gifted with goodies from sponsors Fox (a copy of the Academy Award winning film 12 Years a Slave), Carol’s Daughter, OPI, Warner Bros. Records, and Chik-fil-a.
